Athassel Abbey - is situated on the banks of the River Suir outside the village of Golden in Co Tipperary. Established in 1192, Athassel is believed to have been the largest medieval priory in Ireland until it burned down in 1447.
Cahir Castle - built on a rocky island in the river Suir, Cahir castle is one of the most formidable castles in Ireland. Dating back to the 13th century the castle is well preserved with a great hall with great views of the river and the town of Cahir.
Hore Abbey - The 13th century Hore Abbey is set in farmland just a few hundred yards from the base of the Rock of Cashel.
Holy Cross Abbey - is a completely restored abbey situated outside Thurles in the village of Holycross. Founded by the Benedictines in 1169, the abbey is set in pleasant gardens on the banks of the River Suir.
Lough Derg - is situated in North Tipperary and is the biggest lake of the River Shannon lakes. It’s a very popular spot for boating trips, and has a wide range of fauna. Its marsh surroundings are a perfect habitat for many different species.
The Galty Mountains - are a well-known beauty spot situated in West Tipperary with lush valleys and rocky hills. This scenic area of Tipperary is full of mountain streams, dramatic lakes and superb sandstone peaks.
The Vee - is situated on the Tipperary/Waterford border and is part of the Knockmealdown Mountains. A very popular spot with hill walkers, the Vee’s rugged landscape offers a tough but enjoyable experience for any hiker.
Rock of Cashel - The greatest attraction of the town of Cashel is the magnificent Rock of Cashel which rises dramatically above the town. The Rock dominates the town and the surrounding plains and is one of Ireland’s great historic sites. The main features of the Rock are the 12th century round tower, Cormac’s Chapel and the Cathedral of St Patrick.
